Transportation in Kaohsiung
Kaohsiung Metro
There are two routes, the red line and orange line, which meet at Formosa Boulevard Station. Trains operate at 5-10 min intervals. In order to provide passengers with a nice riding environment, smoking, eating and drinking are strictly prohibited in the station or on the train.
Light Rail Transit (LRT)
The LRT consists of 14 stations. The stations are designed based on the concepts of comfort and the City’s image. It’s a new option for residents to commute and for visitors to tour the City.
City Bus
With high service frequency and reasonable fares, city buses provide passengers with a comprehensive service network. The fares of the city bus are charged based on mileage zones. Regular Ticket: NT$ 12/zone.
Taxi
The amount of legal, licensed taxis exceeds more than 7,000 all over the city. Apart from the arranged taxis system at any major transport node, visitors are welcome to use the taxis services outside of hotels, restaurants, and convenience stores in Kaohsiung. Fares are determined by the meter. NT$ 85 for the first 1.25 km and NT$ 5 for every 200 m afterward.
